On this day we remember Jesus entering into Jerusalem on a donkey, all the while the people took up palm branches and shouted “hosanna to the son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” Read about it in The book of Matthew, Chapter 21 Verses 1 to 11.
Maundy Thursday is when we remember the Last Supper, this was Jesus’ last meal with his disciples before his crucifixion. It is from this meal that we get the celebration of the Eucharist or Holy Communion. Read about this story in the book of Matthew, chapter 26, verses 17 to 30.
On Good Friday we remember Jesus dying on the cross. It would seem odd that we call this day good Friday, considering we are remembering Jesus dying. But it is good because this is why Jesus came in the first place. To show us how to love people better and to die for our sin. Read about it in the book of Matthew, chapter 27. verses 32 to 61.
This day is a celebration! On Easter Sunday we remember Jesus rising from the grave to new life! In doing this Jesus opened the way for us to have a relationship with God. Read more about this story in the book of Matthew, chapter 28, Verse 1 to 10.
